Works with Macbook Pro Clamshell

I used this to be able to use VNC on Macbook Pro (USB-C) in clamshell mode. This works well in combination with the USB-C to HDMI adapter and prevents the Macbook from going to sleep immediately shortly after being plugged in, as it now thinks it has a monitor plugged in. Lots of options, up to 4K60 HDR.

Fixed HDMI compatibility issue. Thanks very much!

I wanted to connect a Canon camcorder to my Blackmagic ATEM Studio. ATEM was a bit picky though and didn't like the signal the camcorder was putting out. I did not receive a video or audio signal. After doing a little research I decided to give it a try. As soon as I connected this device between them, boom, there was video and audio as it should be. There were no delays, everything was perfect. Many Thanks.

Perfect for streaming HDR games!

I use my computer in a "headless" configuration, which means I use remote desktop applications to connect to it from multiple devices. I use this EDID emulator to seduce games on my Sony X950H via Moonlight. I couldn't be happier with the results. 5x more than the headless GS, but worth it for HDR, the only thing the GS can't do. Just set all the switches except number 5, then plug and play. Remember to enable HDR in your Windows display settings.

Does not work with accessories and consumables

I may have received a defective item. Bought to copy the EDID for the monitor and save the monitor information to the device I am using. After many frustrating attempts to get it working, it still doesn't work. The application is useless, you cannot read and edit the EDID from the monitor with the provided software. The instructions in the box are terrible and very difficult to understand. This MAY work if you intend to use one of the pre-installed EDIDs. Get something else if you want to copy…

Great for using the TV as a monitor

I bought two of these for a very specific purpose. So if you're in the same boat, I'd highly recommend them. I have 2 Samsung 40 inch UHD TVs that I bought to use as monitors. They look great and are a lot cheaper than panels of the same size and quality that are sold specifically for the computer monitor. Windows 10 then decides to randomly swap all of my open windows onto the remaining monitors (which are real computer monitors and therefore too beep at idle). So...every time I went back to…

Will work to force Mclassic to 1440p with the correct EDID file.

Mclassic and LG CX don't play well in 1440p because the EDID settings don't match between the two devices. You can use this device to set a custom EDID between Mclassic and your TV to force 1440p output from Mclassic. The only problem is that you can't do this with the basic EDID software settings used to program the Gofanco Prophecy. The workaround I found was to get the other monitor's EDID information, which works natively with Mclassic. Luckily I have an LG 1440p PC monitor and was able to…

This EDID emulator is the solution to using your computer with 4K TV!

So for a while I used another passive device to emulate 4K 60Hz EDID for my computer to mean Window not always moving I turned on the TV (yes, instead of sending a shutdown signal when shutting down, it was always there when turned on). However, the other device had a major disadvantage in that it didn't deliver 4:4:4 chroma. I just received this device today and it not only makes my computer think the monitor is always connected like the other device. , but it also ensures that the 4K 60Hz…

Great for using your TV as a monitor

I have two 40" Samsung UHD TVs that I bought to use them as monitors. They look great and are a lot cheaper than panels of the same size and quality sold specifically as computer monitors. This arrangement has one major disadvantage: when the TVs go into standby mode (or I change the inputs), the computer interprets this as a monitor going off. Windows 10 then decides to randomly shuffle all my open windows across the rest of the monitors (which are real computer monitors and therefore beep…
