I bought these for my 1 year old grandson and you can see the wheels turning in his head as he plays with it. It's nice to know he's playing with a toy that also encourages his thinking and thinking skills, it's fun for adults too!

For my nephew's first birthday. I think I played with him more than he did. Big enough that he wouldn't choke on the pieces, but not too big that the magnets wouldn't work. I partially agree that the magnets could be stronger, but I also have a feeling that if they were, they could pinch a pinky finger between objects. Excellent and we will continue to buy more. Bonus - easy to clean up without getting up by making a long stick and grabbing them all!

Probably on purpose so it would be easy for a small child to separate the pieces, the magnets are very weak. Don't expect to build a large structure with this - most structures are too weak to lift. But it's still a great toy for my 1 year old. Mine loves gluing the pieces together and claps his hands while doing it, so I still think it's worth it. The bars also stick to our fridge. For an older child who wants to build something I would find another item.

If your child is not an angel, do not take this toy. I have a 6 year old, 4 year old and 1 year old and received this as a fun item to share for Christmas. Wonderful toy. My 1 year old already loves them and I know he will love them even more when he gets older and wants to build something. Now he just puts them together and pulls them apart again. I agree with the other reviewers that the magnets could be a bit stronger without making the toy significantly more difficult or dangerous, but I imagine that will be part of the problem for him if he wants to create complex structures. I like this toy and its idea. The parts are large enough for small children's hands to play with. Multiple ways to connect them together and create 2D and 3D shapes or just anything that comes to your mind. It stimulates the imagination of the little ones. The problem is the magnets. They are strong enough for small structures and hold all the parts together well enough. But when you're trying to make something bigger and more complex, you'll need an extra pair of hands to hold it all together…
