I thought I would surprise my family with a pro for the 2015 holidays (purchased on Black Friday). Terrible mistake buying this item. Tried to charge and use but the camera never held a charge. Since it never worked properly I forgot about the problems and tried to use it on vacation but the charging problem remained. I thought the answer would be to replace the battery, but I realized that this model cannot replace the battery. Super suck. Waste of money, time and frustration.

Expensive junk. List of issues I had with this action camera. The battery no longer held a charge after the second day. I couldn't connect to my iPad or laptop, could only use my cellphone and also had to have a Wi-Fi connection to even use the app. It's quite difficult when you're not at home. I couldn't even take the camera out of the case, it was sealed. I went back for a refund and ended up buying a cheap knockoff for a quarter the price with an LCD screen, 4 batteries and wifi that works…

After much research we decided on the GoPro Hero+ as a gift for our eldest son who enjoys making movies, vlogging etc. The Hero+ is a great entry-level model that has all the basic features of more expensive models. Very cool features except one. The device does not work in the cold? Serious? It just turns off after recording starts. Bring it in and in 20 minutes it's working great. So my 10 year old daughter couldn't use her Christmas present after opening it and off on a skiing holiday the next day? The device works properly at higher temperatures (above freezing?). I am writing this review as a new user of GoPro products. I tested Hero Session, Hero+ LCD and Hero 4. Of the four, I only left the Hero 4 session for its form factor.
