Quality obviously good for hand tools

Quality product as expected, Gransfors Bruks does not disappoint. The stone and the container for transport and storage are top in terms of design and functionality. Everyone wants a deal, but quality costs money and you get what you pay for. Buy it once at a reasonable price and take good care of it; There's no reason why it should last a lifetime with average use. Commercial or heavy use will of course accelerate wear and require replacement, but the average hiker, hunter and outdoor…

Great little tool

This thing is great! Obtaining such sharp axes used to be a fairly laborious process, involving multiple rocks and slingshots. This compact device does its job well on its own. I'll keep my Lansky washing machine handy for machetes and such and for chipped repairs, but at the moment I'm using a GB washing machine for axes. I would also like to use it to maintain convex cut knives in the field. The design and form factor are also very good. Small enough to take with you into the field. The…

Excellent fit and finish but maybe overpriced

Very well made and much better quality than other washer sharpeners I've used before. Give it 5 out of 5 for overall quality. However, I have to deduct a star because of the value for money. It's a little more expensive than other washers and sharpeners I've used in the past. I think it's a little overpriced for what it is. If it cost $20-30 it wouldn't be heavy compared to other sharpeners but $50 is a bit pricey if I think it's worth the money. I kept and use it and it works very well but…

Almost magical for sharpeners

Of course I'm no newbie when it comes to sharpening. I sharpen planer knives, chisels and knives long enough to boil this down to a few simple steps. Axes were a problem. Until I bit the bullet and bought a Transfers Bruks Ceramic Grinding/Whetstone. I had an ax that I worked on for several days with diamond sharpening plates and diamond sharpeners. I could get it hot, but never as hot as I felt. Today I used a Transfers Bruks stone on a hatchet and it cuts through paper effortlessly in…
