As with the new popper, the only downside is the loss of cores on this model. With the recommended kernel to oil ratio (3 to 1) we lose 1/3 of the popcorn kernel with each cook cycle. it's quite bulky and expensive for a popcorn fanatic.

Everything says it's 6 ounces but the label says it's 4 ounces and only 1/2 the 6 ounce pouch pops out. Lots of unopened popcorn. Also, the popcorn tastes great. Frustrated with the 6 vs 4 confusion. EPISODE: I called Great Northern direct and they said they use the same kettle for the 4oz and 6oz machines so you can put 6oz of popcorn in the kettle. We've had this for a few years now and we still love it. I would say it's a good choice for a small family or those with small gatherings. We used it for a movie night with friends (kids) and everyone always enjoys it. For our family of four we cook 2-3 batches but I have also cooked 4-5 with great results. I've used different oils and popcorn and it's always good. It's fairly easy to disassemble/reassemble for cleaning, but wiping down after use eliminates the need to disassemble the kettle.

We LOVE this popcorn maker! I got this for my husband a few months ago and we are absolutely in love! We have a 50 pound bag of popcorn, popcorn butter and flavacol popcorn seasoning, and you don't even realize it's not from the theater. Just received it and in 10 minutes it was set up and warmed up. The popcorn was delicious, just like in a movie theater. It's the perfect size for 2-4 people, but you can always turn up for more! I had a cheaper popcorn maker before so this was a pretty good upgrade for me. This one is slightly wider so it's easier to avoid burns when pouring ingredients. The metal on the sides seems nice and strong to me but the bottom door metal is thin and flimsy, same goes for the seed tray but to be honest I'm ok with that.
