These are durable and well made. I've sharpened the ends even finer and use them to mark the pieces of wood I'm sharpening. Works great as a pencil compass.

I find this divider to be useful but a bit awkward to use. It's heavy, and the pencil is quite "far" from the top of the divider. It would be better if the pencil stand holds the pencil at an angle so that the tip of the pencil is closer to the metal tip. However, this allows me to draw a curve on a flat board. For a low price, it meets most of my needs.

When I ordered this pencil divider from Grizzly, I settled for a cheap office-style compass. I needed more capacity (I only had three and a half inches with a compass). Grizzly's divider is perfect for my needs. First, it's a very durable tool, a solid construction that will last forever. Second, it's tightly built; absolutely no game and play.
