Has a large compartment. The lunch bag is a self-contained unit that awkwardly attaches to the front. I wish the book bag had two compartments instead of one as the second compartment could hold pens, lip balms and other small items. In general, the bag is very beautiful, does not get dirty.

The lunch box mounts in the front but has no thermal lining so it's a small bag. There is only one inner pocket, no dividers or additional pockets in the large compartment. Fits in a regular sized binder with plenty of room to keep art projects from bending. My daughter loves it for kindergarten.
