Plastic, but a shovel fits in there

I didn't think it would be big. I love that it comes with a scoop but hate that it's plastic but overall a good product. I use this for my robotic hamster whether it's taking a sand bath or going to the toilet.

Perfect Hammy pot

Awesome! Great thick plastic. The closed latches are smooth and durable. Easily removable for quick and easy cleaning. Ideal for the pet toilet. He can sit there and go about his business and continue to look at his world and what is happening around him.

Fairly flawed Habitat Décor

Pretty and big enough for a dwarf hamster but sand leaks out when poured over the base. This is a problem as my Djungarian hamster loves to dig in and pile it up on one end. It's also a problem when you try to delete it. Although the shovel in the kit is very good.

Cozy for a Syrian hamster, but she seems to love it!

A little small for my Syrian Hamster but she seems to like to be cozy! I give Zoo Med Reptisand (natural, no calcium) and she takes sand baths very often! I first bought them for potty training but I'm not sure if she uses them for that purpose. Well, if she likes it and is happy, I'm a happy buyer!

Worth buying good for home and environment

Our long-haired Syrian hamster loves his sandbox! He uses it daily for cleaning, cooling off and also as an extra hiding spot :) We saw poop there and suspect he pees there too, but it definitely looks like a little multipurpose hangout. We clean it and add new sand about once a week, and it's relatively easy to clean without taking it apart. Worthy purchase!

My dwarf hamster LOVES IT! :)

I love this product! I decided to use an empty coconut to put my bath sand in, so I use this product to put my hamster seeds in there. He loves to dig so it's a great little container to keep everything in and provide a cute hiding place if he wants a treat :) It's quite large for an average cage I bought from the store so I would recommend only buying it if you have a custom made cage that is much roomier. (see picture next to 5 inch wheel) Small scoop is a plus <3
