This appears to be a solid chunk of black and white marble and is very pretty, solid and wipes off easy with a sponge. We are not putting it in a heated dishwasher, it's not necessary. See more about rubber pads below.I bet it would chip or break if you dropped from 4' or so on a tile or granite surface.There are rubber pads on the bottom, so we just keep it by our stove. It is nice enough to leave out!

I absolutely love this spoon rest! It’s solid marble and much larger than expected! Definitely worth more than the price. I’m very happy with my purchase! I wish amazon gave me the option to upload a picture because it looks great on my stovetop. It also has pads on the bottom to prevent scratching. I highly recommend!

This thing is huge and heavy. I thought I was getting a simple spoon rest. Not so. Some of the colors in the material make it look like it needs to be cleaned all the time. It's OK, but I would get something else. One of the problems when buying online, you don't really get to see it and hold it before purchasing.

I am giving this 5 stars across the board. It is very nice. A quality piece. Larger than I expected but just perfect in size. Would make a great gift for anyone’s kitchen. My only disappointment is that I ordered black. This spoon rest is black but has a lot of white in it but I wouldn’t think of sending it back. It was packaged well, arrived in 1 day. Reasonable price. Excellent customer service.

I love everything about it. my spoons looks so beautiful on it, it works so well and I am already used to placing the spoon on it while cooking. Now i wish my counters were white the black mosaic could stand out more. So elegant!

This item makes a stylish addition to my kitchen. Spoon rests can be very ugly sometimes. This one is easy to clean and I have had no problems with staining. I do not run it through the dishwasher as I am afraid it will damage the item somehow.

The marble itself is lovely and I love the color variations (mostly black with white and brown marbling), but, mine came having been cracked and repaired as was mentioned by some other reviewers. However, they did a good enough job repairing that it's barely noticeable and certainly isn't noticeable to an unaware eye looking at it on my stovetop. I loooove this! The rest is huge! And It came out prettier than the picture! Something to keep in mind when ordering products made out of real marble is that not every item is going to look exactly like the picture, and there might be a crack or whatever because it is real marble! I am in love with this spoon rest!

I bought this spoon holder to contrast my new quartz counter--white with black veins and black appliances. It looks fantastic! Everything just wipes clean, even if it is dried over night. It has nice pads on the bottom that are steadfast to the material, so it won't scratch your counter top. It is worth a little extra money if you like the look!

Honestly I can’t complain about the quality, it seems great. The only problem is the color is so different than pictured. This was supposed to be black with a few drops of white, but I received it mostly white/grey which really clashes with my countertops. I will likely return this.

I wanted something compact for my counter so I may not have ordered this one if I'd known the actual dimensions: 5 3/4" wide by 8 1/2" long! Otherwise it's awesome.

It seems durable, more than our last one that broke into several pieces. It looks like real marble. Super easy to clean. I have not put it in the dishwasher but appears it would be fine.

Lovely marble spoon rest. I have not used it yet because one arrived dirty and another had a crack so I am awaiting replacements. I purchased one for myself and another as a housewarming gift along with their marble coasters. Hopefully the replacements are in better condition because these really are nice, and a very good size. It would look very attractive on a countertop.

This replaces an old one I had that broke. I like that it is close to my counter and blends in. It's big enough for me to hold two utensils. Works great.

This is much larger than expected but I LOVE it. It is very sturdy, heavy and easy to clean. I love that it will accommodate large ladles or spatulas. It would make a great gift and it’s a great value for the price. Would totally recommend to anyone.

It looks great in my kitchen and is big enough to hold a spoon and another utensil. I wouldn't wash in the dishwasher due to the pads on the bottom. However, it's super easy to clean under running hot water with a soapy cloth or brush. It is larger than I expected, but that turned out to be a bonus.

I was really excited to get a black marble spoon rest, but unfortunately this one was not the color as described because it wasn't black at all.it's a dark gray with a not-so- attractive pattern. I will keep looking for a "real" black one.
