50/50 chance of getting a good yarn

I have ordered two 1kg spools of this yarn. The first coil seems to have absorbed moisture during the packaging process and will not stick to the bed for love. or money. The footprints continue to curl around the corners of the platform. However, the second coil sticks to the print bed during printing, even when using the exact same settings and G-codes. The weather was dry, relative humidity 30-40%. The filament is a mixture of PLA resin, starch as a filler (usually rice starch) and sometimes…

If you're new to 3D printing, don't even think about it ;)

I've worked with about 10 different filaments from multiple manufacturers (including another hatchbox filament). Sure, I had the usual adhesion issues, but for some reason the orange hatchbox thread wouldn't stick to my build plate (tempered glass with PEI film). I've tried hotter tempos and ended up with lots of strings. I tried lower temperatures and ended up with less adhesion. I slowed down the speed a lot and tried different layer heights. The only thing I could do to make my print last…

No problem? Don't be afraid to try this

. I was afraid to try this yarn because of the reviews but I needed color and 3D Solutech (my main brand of yarn) was out of stock. no tension, under-extrusion, feeding error or bad filament/winding. The attached image was printed with the following settings: Printer - Creality Ender 3Slicer - Ultimaker Cura 4.0.0 resolution/layer height - 0.2mm inset density - 100% nozzle temperature. - 205Cd Temp. - 65C Print Speed - 80mm/s Temp. - 23C (73F) Total time: 6h 47m 13s Edit (1/4 coil left): Yes…
