Very effective as a transcooler!

The only thing I don't like about this cooler is that it doesn't have any built in mounting flanges. You'll need to use the zip ties that come with it, and I'm not a fan of that method. Also, this cooler is very efficient, lowering the temperature of my 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 by over 30 degrees.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

The included heatsink adapter does not fit the new GM connectors.

Excellent cooler with good performance. Installed on 08 Moscow region for additional cooling when towing. J ended up with an install kit that came with brackets and hardware, I also needed another adapter to quickly connect the heatsink. Except for the included adapter that didn't fit the heatsink, this was a great kit.

Improvements needed

This non-genuine item was installed on a 2008 Toyota Settings. I added it before the condenser coil. I had to drill two 5/8" holes in the frame section for the hoses to reconnect to the transmission return line splices. Remember to connect the hoses before adding zip ties. In general everything works fine. I added this because I added a trailer hitch to the minivan.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • A later model could have been chosen

Solid accessory transcooler

I originally bought a 678 quick cool plate cooler for our Honda Odyssey, but ended up going with the 516 tube version because some people complained about the pump whistle on the 678. The 516 seems solid, well. A free flow cooler larger than the more efficient 678 so I believe the overall cooling is the same. Gave 4 stars because the attached plastic straps don't look like they will last long. Also, I don't like putting anything on the condenser that can stress it, so it took a while to make…

Good enough but not the quality of the old one.

This cooler cools gears, oil or steering fluid well. Aluminum is cheap Chinese quality so don't expect it to be damaged by rocks or friction. If you have a GM with a radiator clamp transmission, order a GM transmission adapter as not all auto parts stores stock or sell these. If the company really wanted to impress me, they would rotate this adapter 180 degrees to face the radiator so it looks reasonably professional when installed. You may need an aluminum bracket installation kit if you…

Great cooler and amazing results! Somewhere 40 degrees colder!

For 2007 Suburban with 5.3L engine and 4L60e transmission. Quick install and it made a huge difference! I should have installed that years ago. My transmission was running at around 180-200 degrees depending on the outside temperature and RPM. When towing a trailer and/or driving at 80 mph on a highway with hills, the speed usually went up to around 215, which always made me nervous. Since installing this cooler I haven't seen it go above 140! I'll be towing a heavy camper late next week and…
