Almost plug and play with my MacBook Air

I have a 5 year old Cannon Vixia HF-R62 camcorder that I wanted to use to stream Face Book Live sessions. This Pengo video capture module allowed me to connect my camcorder's HDMI output to my MacBook Air laptop. On the FB Live webpage, the Pengo video capture module showed up as an external HDMI input that I could select instead of the laptop's internal camera, and once selected I was turned off and streamed to FB Live.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power

Works well unless you're using a USB-A adapter

Image quality is ridiculously poor unless you plug it directly into a USB-C port. It might be 720p if you're using a USB-A adapter, but it looks very pixelated. If you want 4K, you can't use it with anything other than USB-C.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • So-so

Works as advertised

This thing got our church up and running last weekend. It worked flawlessly in combination with the free OBS software encoder. A pair of these adapters connected to a powerful computer will allow you to use multiple cameras simultaneously and use OBS as a switch/mixer. Both video and audio come through the USB connection.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Quality

It works out! - Computers and accessories

As work from home expands due to the coronavirus, I've started using my Sony A7II as a webcam for video calls. 1080p at 60fps with a 70mm lens is great for me. I plugged it in and Windows took care of the driver so I didn't have to do anything. The video source shows it as USB video. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

I just plug it in and it works right away

Sorry if I haven't written a review but it's too early as I haven't used it yet. I give it 5 stars because I've only used it once since I've had it and the streaming quality from my Sony cam has been good, no complaints so far. I just connected it to my macbook pro with obs installed, it was recognized immediately. I played with it for about 2 hours and it didn't overheat, I could touch it lightly. Maybe next time I'll give a full review because I haven't tested the sound in it, yes. So I would

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Only available in white

Plug and play for me: Sony A6600 and MacBook Pro

Thankfully plug and play for my A6600 in my MacBook Pro. A few minutes later I was with him in the Hofbach and other people in the creek were commenting on my HD webcam!

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Hang at best 720x480p in the internal TV tuner and capture cards on

I tried two cameras that worked fine at 1080p with Black Magic Design capture cards, but only got 720x480p in the Windows 10 camera app and OBS. It's PnP and it works without drivers, but I was expecting 1080p. It worked straight away with 3 computers I connected to, but none had the best resolution. I decided to return.

Pros
  • wide area
Cons
  • The list is long.
