This can work to loosen up tight muscles in the back and neck. However I do have issues with it. It's hard to position as it is a small device that is only fixed by a small strap. That strap isn't big enough to attach to any large backing so it can slide around. I had to wedge it against a TV pillow and lean back on it to keep it in place.
