It's really great to find art out there in your area that you can't get anywhere else! I love how they have so much work by local artists including myself which makes it easier for people like me who live outside of Chicago with limited access because of distance or living situation etc., (which happens quite often) to visit events hosted at Lightbox/HeavyTime to see cool stuff from other places around my city as well!! I like Heavy Time's approach to publishing work that is not easily accessible in mainstream culture. Their publication of 'The Last Days' by Jens Hoffmann was a great way to get his work out there. The heavy paper stock and the fact that it is printed in Germany gives the publication a weighty feel. The format is simple and easy to follow. There are some fantastic artists (and writers) featured in this magazine. The layout is also very clean and easy to navigate. It is a bit pricey for my taste

I really like that this publication was made by people who are artists themselves. They understand how to engage with their audience in an effective way and have great attention to detail as well! The layout of each issue has always been unique from one another - very creative! It's fun to read because you never know what kind of content/art will be featured next.
