Plastic body, no metal

Just received so no durability information yet. Note: They are plastic, not metal. I assumed metal from the photos, went through the list and couldn't find the material used anywhere. So not as heavy as we would like, but we'll see how they hold up.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

A little expensive but nice.

Although they are not street legal for high beam in Pennsylvania, I use them in my everyday car. They fit great and still do their job, no chipping. I would buy them again (actually my second set, previously used in another car).

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Negative present

Great for spares

They're by no means durable as they're made out of regular plastic, but they'll protect your flashlights from everything that hits the light. My headlights are at bumper height and when parked on the street they shine brightly. I have some creases in the headlight mounts so they push in, but they prevent the glass from making contact with other cars' rear bumpers. The Hella badge is removable or can be mounted upside down if your lights are mounted that way. Suitable as a glove for the 500…

Looks good, need color

I like them, they look good. Four stars because they have to come with the lighting and not extra. In addition, my wife will paint the Hella logo in a different color. Being white, it is hardly noticeable against the background of the "silver” headlights. Hella must be yella. Overall they feel sturdy and are a much better alternative than having to take the covers off every time you want to use the light. Even though they will be a bit more expensive, Hella should definitely include them…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons

Great design and nice looking protectors

For about a year I used the white solid OEM protectors that came with the Hella I bought. I was really tired of taking them off and replacing them every time I used the light. These guards not only look good 24 hours a day, but allow you to use your flashlights whenever you want and protect them at all times. I've had them for over a year now, wear and tear isn't worse. I was a little concerned about sun damage where it might become brittle but I had no problems. The only downside I see is that

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
  • Vanish

Full protection alternative

They come in a clamshell so use caution when opening. I wish they were a little more durable (thicker plastic) for better protection. I bought these to use with 500 bulbs so I don't have to keep the caps fully covered all the time. The 3 clips they are molded into hold up great. They are in the same 3 places as the solid covers. It seems easiest to remove them from the bottom where the protrusions are on each side of the stem. This method applies less torque than trying to loosen the top tab…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Insecure
