This was a gift for my wife and she enjoys using it. This is my second, but that's only because I gave my first to two of my aunts in Puerto Rico. I like that I can regulate the temperature. I don't need as much heat as someone with thicker hair. But it works for both. I used it for straightening and curling. I only have to go through it once per section. Unlike other expensive ones, you have to go through it several times to straighten your hair.
