Setup not for the faint of heart

Works, but setup is not for the faint of heart. A clean install of Windows is required for the download to work. I tried creating an array and cloning it but it didn't work. Mobo Asus H97M-plus had to disable CSM for it to accept it. Do it as it says in the instructions, there is only this adapter, the Windows installation disk and the Highpoint uefi flash drive is activated, check the settings in the mobo bios and compare with the instructions. My Asus mobo didn't see it until I disabled CSM…

Pros
  • Flexible solution: compatible with PCIe x8 and x16 slots
Cons
  • Factor Set

Works Computer Components

My motherboard does not support NVMe RAID and I had to look for a similar solution. I'm using an ASUS x299 board, so be aware my experience might be different. Just make sure you follow the instructions, I forgot a step and didn't enable a setting in my BIOS which made the process take a lot longer. Once I had that, I just created a RAID and installed Windows. That being said, I had some driver issues installing Windows, but after a few reboots (painful, but whatever) it installed and I had no…

Pros
  • Ideal for compact 1 and 2U low profile servers or workstations
Cons
  • Long delivery time

A bit tricky to set up

I have an ASUS X299-A motherboard. Putting two 970 evo plus drives in RAID 0 on this thing worked, but took a while to set up. You must change your boot options to allow booting from OPROM devices. You must also disable Secure Boot. When installing Windows, you must load the RAID drivers from another USB stick. Eventually, despite all this, my installation got stuck during the installation. I eventually figured out that I had to physically erase the existing drive that already had Windows 10…

Pros
  • RAID 0.1, a hard drive
Cons
  • won't say anything
