You get what you paid for

The sound quality is good but the presentation of the product is not very good and that is why I give 3 stars saves hours of troubleshooting with this item, the product does not come with a jumper on the back of the circuit board, you need to add a jumper to make it work.

Pros
  • 3. The stereo connector is already soldered to the circuit board.
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Excellent sound quality with Raspberry Pi and Volumio software

I needed a high quality way to stream audio from Spotify and my music collection to a new set of powered speakers and subwoofers in my living room. I settled on a replacement Raspberry Pi running Volumio's open source streamer software. I originally had a USB DAC (digital-to-analog converter) connected, but I wanted something smaller and potentially bigger. I found this cheap $8.00 DAC module that uses an old but very powerful Burr Brown PCM5102A chip. Much cheaper than Hifiberry if you can…

Pros
  • 5. Being digital audio it sounds really good, much better than the onboard analog audio. The stereo plug is already soldered to the circuit board.
Cons
  • unreliable

Educational use only

Let's get down to business. Work. If you're really inexperienced and get it working I guarantee you'll learn a lot in the process, but that's the only thing I guarantee. it on Raspberry Pi (I use 4 but some others with 40pin header should be the same - RT M): 1 - VIN (red) connects to pin 22 - GND (black) connects to pin 63 - LRCK (green) ) connects to pin 35 - This is the only connector in odd row 4 - DIN (yellow) connects to pin 405 - BCK (blue) connects to pin 12 No, you don't have to use…

Pros
  • 4. Uses PCM5102A DAC to work with Raspberry Pi I2S interface
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled
