Multiple orders, all ok! 😁

Bought 3 so far (on different dates) and I'm happy to say they arrived as expected and work great 😌 Placing more orders now. Whatever troubles they've had, it looks like it's over.

Garbage without documentation

I just want to open the hub and read and write data. There is absolutely no tutorial or examples or anything to show you how to do something so simple. I can get a description of the universe, but nothing useful. Garbage.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Almost never

You get what you pay for

I just opened the package because I need a USB host for a school project. Many of the pins are so bent that they don't even fit on the Arduino board without bending them back. Plus the soldering is terrible.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Many things

Misaligned pins and broken USB tab

Most of the matching pins were bent and needed to be aligned to actually fit the Arduino. Also, the tabs in the USB hub that transfer data were bent, and after inserting a standard USB stick, one of them broke.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Very expensive

Single board computers need to be soldered

As mentioned the power is completely off from the factory and I don't understand why. The 3.3V and 5V inputs and the 5V Vbus pads need to be bridged, but everything works correctly after this tweak. I bought several of these and their build quality was mixed. Many of them didn't have their pins soldered directly and required a bit of effort to connect to the Arduino board.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Running

Advice is garbage. Do not worry.

Boards failed QC because solder pad jumpers are not bypassed for any configuration. After the jumper, the library still cannot read or write. You will spend hours looking for information like "OSC not started" and "Test failed". Value Written: 01 Read: 00 Just don't waste your time on this. Overall really disappointing. It is necessary for work.

Pros
  • Hands Free
