HiTow Trailer Receiver Extenders Length Review

4/5 stars because our Jeep JLU Wrangler's 2" hitch receiver has some bugs. I ordered a clamp to keep this extension from moving. Otherwise great value for money and I would buy again.

I bought it in April and just started using it today. I was going to use it too and the extension fits my existing 2" hitch well, however the hole that my bike rack fits into the receiver isn't 2" but is a bit smaller so it won't fit.

I need this to get my tailgate to release the jack when hitching my 5x10 utility trailer. otherwise there is too much play. I also understand that the load capacity will be reduced with this extension but for a light trailer I haven't had any issues and am very happy with this purchase.

Bought because of Revain's review. Thought it was an easy, no-hassle purchase. NOT CORRECT. Upon further inspection, several customers commented that the hole was not wide enough. However, Revane supports this as the best choice. Shame on Raven. Shame on me for trusting Revane. Will be returning this useless product. Too bad I didn't see more reviews. They only give us more garbage. Doesn't deserve a single star.

The extension provides the clearance needed to keep bikes off the jeep spare wheel. It tends to move a bit in the hitch, but that's how it should be. Very hard and strong. I've also used it to tow a neighbor's (heavy) snowmobile trailer and it was more than strong enough for the task. I don't always need an extension, but when I do, this extension has proven to be well constructed.

My car has a spare wheel on the tailgate so when I hitch the camper to the hitch the ball is almost on the tire. This extension allows me to move the ball and camper back about 10 inches so the camper isn't as close to the car when I need to make a tight turn or reverse. It is very heavy and heavily varnished to prevent rust. None of the local stores had this, but shipping is free with Prime!

There will be a return and I am very angry. The towbar is fine, the receiver fits my car. But the receiver of this product is EXACTLY 2 inches tall which means a stand with a 2 inch tongue will not fit. A sweatshop in Asia probably asked for "two inches," so that's what they got. I doubt the engineer who designed this ever USED a hitch and had no idea that "two inches" actually means 2 and 1/32nd. idiots.
