One worked; one is not

Unfortunately one of them worked and the other didn't. The husband immediately noticed that they registered different temperatures.

Pros
  • Not only useful for the intended purpose
Cons
  • Minor things

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Slow to get accurate temperature

The thermometer had an incredible lag so buy the time the water boils it only reads 180 degrees and it takes 5 minutes to catch up is.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Update availability

Not suitable for roasting turkey!

These thermometers cannot be used to roast turkey. The temp gauge is too high at 200 degrees and the turkeys roast at 325. I had to return them

  • Price
Cons

Accurate enough and long enough for COMPOST

I use them for my compost heaps. They're reading my electronic sensors to within a degree, so that's cool. Great price compared to real "compost thermometers".

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Weight

Works well, adjustable but a bit slow.

Beautiful. Easy to set up with a small wrench if calibration hasn't been done. It takes a few seconds to heat up to temperature, test with boiling water to see how long you wait.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Everything in order

No accuracy on kitchen utensils and appliances

I tried measuring the water temp at 170 Fahrenheit but the true reading was 182 and the second was 178. Unfortunately for the mash temp I need a maximum error of 1%. Another problematic package took 3 weeks to be picked up by USPS for an unauthorized reason.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged

Not accurate or durable - edit - completely unusable after 3 months

Bought two of these and calibrated them in the same pot of boiling water. Both read 212 when cooked, but one reads 73 at ambient and the other reads 67 next to it. The actual temperature was 70. A 3 degree difference is not ideal for a brewer. Also, they're pretty flimsy and I expect they'll break soon, maybe with the cooker's lid. - EDIT - after a few games they are not even remotely accurate. After being set to a digitally confirmed boiling point, they are placed in a chilled wort where both…

  • Well built
