It's very difficult to unscrew the seal once the air has been evacuated so you get the air back right away and it's not enough to really make a big difference except after a few hours they're all full of air again, and I might as well use a garbage bag because it's just stuff in a giant ziplock bag. I thought I might have a bad bag but everyone had it.

These bags seemed to work just fine. The vacuum removed the air and compressed the ceiling very slightly. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The next day, however, the blanket ballooned again. I tried it twice, with 2 different packages, following instructions. My daughter also tried it and got the same unsatisfactory results. They are amazing! They came to Europe and New York with three large (huge and fitting for a very large blanket, queen or king) and two medium! I saved a ton of space in my luggage and acted as storage when I got there (I tried) Each pocket has a small piece of plastic to ensure the zips are fully closed! Brilliant! I have bought and used a variety of vacuum bags over the years as I have moved a lot. This brand has been the worst so far. .I bought them a few months ago to use for a move this week.
