The old-style Bernina 830 does not have a fixed brace.

The old Bernina 830 does not have a fixed needle screw stand. So when you attach the upper arm lever, it loosens the screw and after a few stitches the needle falls out. So I don't think you can use the walking foot on the old machine I have. Something to consider if you are using a vintage sewing machine and are thinking of a walking foot.

Didn't fit, damaged my vintage Bernina

This foot didn't fit my 1970's Bernina 810. They would fit but were too big for my car and when trying to install it I messed up the alignment and had to service it. So I lost $50 per leg and had to spend another $75 on maintenance. For vintage cars I recommend buying the leg from the dealer so he can be sure it's a working part!

Meets my needs

I'm in a bind; I had to finish 3 double size quilts in 10 days. I did a little research and bought a honeysew walking foot for my old Bernina 830. It was so great to be able to finish these projects! I only have two problems. First, the foot comes without a diagram or instructions on how to fit or use the foot. I've researched so it's not too hard to understand. My second problem was that I went through a lot of needles. The foot has a "hook" that sits around a screw that tightens the needle…
