Good sensor, easy to read, very accurate

Seems accurate from my scanner's real time data and the infrared heat gun temp is actually rising faster than the PCM reads. The display is bright and the warning light comes on at 212-213 degrees Fahrenheit. Installation can be difficult depending on the vehicle. The only thing I didn't like is that the temp gauge starts at 104°F before it starts reading.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Sensor was not working electrically

Couldn't get the sensor to register anything other than 104 degrees Fahrenheit which was the default setting. I ran a dyno test and heated the meter well above 104 and the meter didn't budge. I got the sensor working fine by connecting some resistors in series with the sensor to ground and making it jump. hot sensor hit.

Pros
  • Lots of positive swings
Cons
  • Zero

Works perfectly! After realizing what I did wrong!

The pressure gauge works as it should. At first he only read 104. He didn't move. Revane wanted to send me a new one. Then I read the reviews and saw the same release as the others. I thought it might be user error. So I used a new cable between the transmitter unit and the sensor. It then showed higher temperatures as the engine warmed up. I noticed that the sensor jumps a little higher, then lower. I just ran new wiring to service this unit while using previously existing wiring of a…

Buyer Warning. INACCURATE

PRO: The only nice thing I can tell you is the bright, clear display. Easy installation is ok. CONS::> EASILY READS 90 TO 100 DEGREES HOT THAN THE CAR. NOT ACCURATE AT ALL. AFTER HOURS OF TROUBLESHOOTING, CHECKING CONNECTIONS, AND REWORKING MASS AND RECALIBRATION, NOTHING WAS ADJUSTED OR FIXED. STILL OFF NOT RIGHT YET. GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR I guess. Update: Exchange requested. if he does the same. I will ask for a refund. Waiting for a new one to arrive. Update: See attached photos…

This gives me quick and accurate temperature readings.

I like this product because it gives me instant feedback on a specific temperature. I installed it on a 1929 Ford Model A and these cars can easily overheat on long drives. With this digital gauge I can see which way the temperature is going and I can instantly adjust my driving to check the temperature of the engine. With an old needle you will not notice the slightest change in temperature. If the arrow position shows a change, you actually need to change your driving style to avoid the…

Readable and functional, but inaccurate

Honestly, one has to be objective. Don't expect the $22 Autometer to ship. The sensor works but is definitely off by at least 10 degrees or more. 204 on the gauge shows about 192 or so on the body of the infrared thermostat, right where the sensor is attached. I bought this knowing it was a temporary use sensor. I installed electric fans on a classic Mustang and just needed to see if they stopped working. Accuracy is bad, 2 stars. Easy to install and read? 5 stars each. 3 total for me. His work

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Speed of performance

Not bad, but you get what you pay for

I have to agree with all the other reviews on reading accuracy. The first picture shows a pressure gauge reading 201 degrees, the second is a pressure gauge I bought at a local auto parts store (AutoZ). I ordered this gauge the same day. While the Gage counterpart hardly differed in price, I trust the counterpart differently and as you can see, it shows a difference of about 10 degrees. The analog gauge also reads the same as my infrared gun and both temp gauges I put in the thermostat housing…
