We bought this for our 3 year old granddaughter to help her understand time management. When we set timers, she knows that when the sand hits the floor, it's time to do something: go inside, take a bath, get ready for bed, etc. Since we've started using timers, everyone's stress levels have gone down. a lot of!

My first review was censored 🤬 because the sand in the product "sticks" and I thought it was simply not worth returning and suggested that the seller send a replacement in blue. It didn't go too well, so here's rating #2: Sand sticks, so the timer isn't reliable. Also, you can get the same item with 25% off if you keep searching. Hope this helps and that it doesn't get censored like the first review.

Edit: The seller sent me a replacement and it works great! The hourglass wasn't a necessity, especially in the age of cell phones. We all have a timer at our fingertips. If they weren't so big I would give them a 1. Large hourglasses at a good price are hard to find. I like that they have a big base so they don't get knocked over easily. Good to use for preschoolers. BUT. the time was not accurate. I bought a 5 minute timer that was only 3 seconds off the right time. But the 15 minute timer takes almost 18 minutes! So I'm a little annoyed. My Hourglass has a few scratches on the outer glass/plastic part. Not sure why. But I see scratches. It's hard to capture in a photo, otherwise I would provide one.
