Description of Hoya Circular Polarizer Digital Filter

Hoya Ultraviolet (UV) Glass Filter: This is a multi-purpose filter that is designed to optimize the photography experience of the digital SLR user. UV filters absorb ultraviolet rays that often make outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct, and should be constantly fitted to a lens to provide improved clarity and color balance, as well as to provide protection to your lens. Hoya Circular Polarizing (PL) Slim Filter: A polarizing filter allows you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass, and it also improves color saturation, clarity and contrast. A polarizer is different than most filters in that it is composed of two pieces of glass, mounted independently inside a round frame so that one can be rotated relative to the other. Hoya Neutral Density (ND) Filter: An ND filter is an essential accessory for any photographer's camera bag. ND filters reduce the amount of visible light that enters the lens, allowing the user to utilize wider apertures or slower shutter speeds, particularly in bright conditions.

Vivid Photos with Enhanced Detail

This circular polarizer filter has BEEN a game-changer for my photography .The colors are vivid and the details are crisp, giving my photos an extra pop that I never knew was possible. The added bonus of protecting the lens has also been a relief. The only downside is the price point but for the quality its worth the investment. Overall, a fantastic addition to any photographer's electronics..

Pros
  • Reduces glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces, such as water and glass
Cons
  • May require some adjustment to achieve desired effect

Good filters at a very good price

I couldn't tell the difference between pictures with and without filters. I installed a UV filter on my new Sigma 135/1.8 lens and shot the lens wide open. The results were identical. I repeated the test at f/11 to see if there was a difference. It's not like this. I haven't tried a polarizer or ND filter yet but plan to do a similar test and update this review if necessary.
