My HP Zbook crashed

I plugged everything in, then checked the HP website for the latest drivers, downloaded them, installed them and after a reboot my system stopped working. BSOD😫. Returned to redundancy. Then after reinstalling the OS I decided to try the Dell D6000 Dock, plugged it in and it worked like clockwork. I've tried several HP docking stations but it was hard to know which is the best as there are around a million of them. I am very disappointed in HP products. And it looks like I'm not the only one…

Pros
  • Connectivity: Wired
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Doesn't charge best in Computers & Accessories

Pre-sales and after-sales HP promised to charge a specific HP laptop. It is not. It also sometimes gets confused as to which screen is the primary, or a screen reverts to 1024 x 768. It doesn't handle 3 screens properly. It also doesn't get past the loading screen. These are probably laptop limitations, not docking station limitations; However, the HP sales team promised me it would work. So I need to review the device they recommended. Also, the customer service was very bad. Tech support and…

Worked for a while - Notebook Accessories

After about 18 months my HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3 laptop started losing connection. It looks like the main USB-C port is loose, but it wasn't clear if it was the connector on the side of the dock or both ports on the computer. I have since read others with this complaint. I have updated all dock and laptop firmware as per HP requirements before getting help. After that, the audio through the dock stopped working. It then started refusing to connect from time to time unless the computer was…

Great Thunderbolt and USB-C option - but UPDATE THE FIRMWARE!

Used with Microsoft Surface Book 2 and Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 and Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 7390. Initially I had problems with Surface Book 2 which would lock up and show a black screen when I has brought it back from hibernation, but I found the latest HP firmware on the HP support site, I actually installed it with a Surface Book 2 and updated the dock accordingly. Everything works fine after a firmware update - connects to a USB headset, a Logitech Unifying wireless keyboard and mouse adapter,

Nice physical design but too many problems

I'm using a docking station with the new HP Specter 15". I had to enable hibernation in Windows and use it instead of sleep mode as a workaround. When the computer wakes up from sleep or sleep mode, intermittent BSODs occur and the dock often starts glitching (the mouse starts lagging, and the sound from the headphone jack on the dock there is static.) The workaround I found for this was the Disconnecting the laptop from the dock before waking it from sleep/hibernation and then plugging it back
