I decided to pay extra for a genuine item because I could get overnight delivery and continue my photo printing project while I waited Third party cartridges (and a lot cheaper) this weekend. Some printers, like mine, have 2 HP564 cartridges - one for printing photos and one for printing documents I think. Each of them has a unique image for its use on the label attached to the cartridge. An image for photos looks like a bow tie, and for documents it looks like a pentagon. You won't know or notice the difference until you open the box, even though both labels say HP 564 XL and both say HP 564 XL.
