10-11-19 I received my used non original packaging. Instructions were sparse even though it's really plug and play. Low cost and most importantly for ease of use. I wouldn't use mine to play multimedia DVDs or CDs, not sure how long it will last with repeated extended use. My new HP laptop did not have a built in CD drive like my old desktop computer. If I had to install several programs, I needed a CD drive since the programs are on floppy disks. This CD drive helped install these programs. Now I can play CDs and DVDs on my laptop.

I bought this HP drive to use with a new HP laptop. Unfortunately, he didn't want to work with him easily, so I sent him back. Well now I am trying to return this item as it is not showing up in Revain. The seller will contact someone one day to see if I can return this fiasco, it works, although I should try at least, but there is no software to view the characteristics of this device or if it can actually burn cds with wmp the ability to burn cds as advertised maybe the article on the revain website but not what i got very disappointed.
