HP Magenta Original Cartridges Officejet Review

The cyan and magenta cartridges were empty. Seriously HP? Promoting the genuine product and sending beautifully packaged genuine print cartridges to customers. The price is ridiculous. They have caused your printers to refuse updated inks. I order direct from you and that's what you give.? This is the 3rd time. I'm bored of this.

I bought these in February thinking I was about to run out of ink. The ink ran out on April 1st. When I opened the package I found 3 previously used ink cartridges. Plastic protection elements have been separated. Upon closer inspection, there was duct tape on the packaging. Looks like someone used it and repackaged it. The ink was advertised as new. I thought I'd buy new stuff. Buyer Warning.

UPDATE. I returned the defective yellow cartridge along with two brand new cartridges (cyan and magenta) which I received and bought directly from HP as I didn't feel comfortable reordering here. (Rather than returning two that I've used for three weeks, I sent them brand new ones from HP.) They tell me the yellow cartridge looks old and used in my printer (it's full because it never worked. If it looks old and used, that's how I got it!), and the other two don't match the expiration date on…

I received the cartridges, removed them from the cellophane wrapper that came with it (so I knew they weren't counterfeit), removed the plastic clips and installed them in the printer. Then I checked the ink level status and it showed 30% cyan and 60% blue (yellow was full). I was surprised and thought the printer might be underestimating the levels, but after replacing the cartridges and trying again, all the levels were at 100% with the replaced cartridges. After installing this multi-color ink, I cleaned the printhead as recommended by HP. After that, my ink report on all three was completely exhausted! Cleaning the printhead had nothing to do with ink usage, but my ink is gone. Brand new.

Warning. I ordered this ink from Prime, 48 hour delivery, 8th August. They just arrived on August 16th and they are not working. The expiry date on the packaging is November 2016 (covered with a sticker). I can't print a return label because my printer won't print with this ink. I have to pay $1 for each return to have UPS print it. A black cartridge ordered from another supplier will not work, possibly because the printer reports that the magenta cartridge is missing or defective. I…

I suspected something was wrong when I saw the box had tape on one end. The cartridges were unpacked and all had a piece of plastic ripped off covering the ink outlet. I needed to print some flyers so I put them in and hoped for the best. The flyers were well received but were reduced by 25% (only 40 pages). That means I'll be lucky if I get 200 pages of it instead of the 300 advertised. They were clearly needed. Now I buy direct from HP. $38 is too much for used cartridges.
