why oh why Please read this!

Why on earth would you make a tool of your own design and NOT have a cut out in the top that works with traditional screws? Now you need to replace all the screws or take two tools with you. I have no idea why mfg overlooks such basic concepts.

They work great: Camera Mounts and Clips

They solve the mount misfit problem. They screw in pretty easily, but you'll always have a wrench with you if you need one. I had a few mounts that were unusable until I got them. You just didn't tighten enough to hold the hardware in place. These solved this problem.

It's a really nice design, the lock nut and rubber washer got in the way.

I used this to mount the camera to the handlebars of a bike - I needed a spare thumbscrew as my previous screw vibrated and got lost on the road. It's a really nice design, the lock nut and rubber washer prevented vibration during the last couple of rough road rides.
