Dust cover Extremely useful

When hiking in direct sunlight, this tube makes that first sip of water from the bottle bearable, not boiling. The dust cover has proven extremely useful in the sandy national parks of the southwest.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Faulty

Works great with Geiger rig

Requires insulated pipe for western Mongolia mountains. The temperature turned out to be just above zero, so I didn't need it in the end as I was covered up at night. Works great with my Geigerrig Hydration Engines. I love the built in lid.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • No power

Not worth it - Outdoor Recreation

It doesn't really make the water in the tube cooler than the original tube. It has a bite valve cap which I found a little annoying at first but the good thing is that the valve doesn't hit the ground when you take the pack off.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Nothing

Type of Use - Outdoor

Like many of these tubes, designed to isolate water in a hydrator in hot weather, this type works but does not keep the water noticeably cold or cool at all. much longer than without an insulating layer. I'm guessing it only improves it about 15% of the time when a person is outside so I can't say it's worth the money.

Insulated drinking tube with dust cover

Purchased to replace the uninsulated tube on my insulated Hydrapak chamber. Comes with a dirt/dust cap for the bite valve and thin but functional insulation that keeps the water in the hose from heating up quickly. Also yelled about it in a bladder review, but why sell an insulated bladder without insulated tubing?

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Reliability

Great tube in hydration packs

Love the bite valve and how easy it is to get it on and off. The reason I gave it 4 stars is the packaging! I had to use a sharp knife to remove the plastic protecting the bite valve and connector. Why isn't there an easier way? I'm so sick of the packaging it's hard to open, especially with arthritic hands. I think it's a bit pricey but I'll leave it as I like the features.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Buy this instead of separate parts

Almost went to a large outdoor retail store for a new bite valve and cap. Spend a few bucks more and get this insulated hose with valve and cap. Works by connecting to a quick connect adapter. Use it for hiking and kayaking in the hot Arizona sun, and the insulation keeps the water in the line cold. I used to drink some hot water in the tap and then cold in my bladder but this solves this problem.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

NOT for cold weather insulation.

Although the packaging specifically states for warmer weather use, I figured I'd give it a try when skinning over 10,500ft at 15-20F because it essentially replaced a broken bite valve; It does not insulate in the cold (15-20F) even when water is blown back into the bladder to prevent the straw from freezing. I only recommend this product for over 30F. The bite valve cover is really good and is easy to remove and put back on the bite valve while riding. Back to finding a good cold weather…

Pros
  • Loads of positive vibes
Cons
  • Protection

Not grey, but BLACK. Hotter than my bare hose.

Gray hose used in all photos. The hose I received was black, not that I don't like black. But it seems counterproductive to me to have a black hose trying to insulate from overheating! It seems reasonable not to use black unless you want it to be hotter. I live in a hot desert climate and scorching sun. I had to send it back as soon as I saw the wrong color choice. But I decided to use it and see how it works. It's actually hotter than my bare hose. Do not buy this model if you are in a sunny…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Transparency
