High quality set ideal for little kids' science projects. The quality of the mirror surface is actually very good, and the images are very sharp and clear.

You can't do it yourself. It would be more interesting to buy in a needlework store and make it at home. The price was too high for this product.

This kit was used in a school project and the students loved it. The kits were easy to put together and worked very well despite being made from very cheap materials. I added some colored beads to the plastic figures to add to the effect, but it's not necessary.

Bought this at a better price at my local craft store. I bought two of these and used them with a six year old girl and a boy. The kits were easy to assemble on my own after reading the instructions and showing them how to remove the film from the glass. I gave them some stickers to decorate the outside of the kaleidoscope. They took about 40 minutes and had a lot of fun collecting, decorating and using. For the $4 a piece I paid for them, they were worth the money.

I'm an adult and it was difficult for me to collect this. It has sharp points and edges on the mirror that require fumbling to peel off the foil, turn over and then push firmly through the cardboard. cheap, outer parts are cardboard. The part you spin doesn't spin easily (cardboard against cardboard) and comes off every time I play with it (I remember being fascinated by them as a kid, wanted to see how it worked and my own put things in). it's also about half the size I remember.
