🎮 Hyperkin N64 Controller Adapter: Seamless Compatibility for Nintendo Switch/ PC Review

Works great. Now I'm playing Super Smash Bros Ultimate on my N64 controller and it's awesome. It registers as a GameCube controller, but works thanks to this adapter.

I've tried Android, PC and even classic Playstation. I flipped the switches and tried again. Nothing recognized my controller. This item may actually work if the manufacturer has specified compatible controllers.

Works well, even Nintendo Switch can see it. My Mac sees it, but the gaming software I'm using doesn't recognize it (OpenEmu). This is more of a programming issue than a problem with this adapter.

The adapter is compact and fits both the classic N64 plug and the USB port. Good digital output. I saw a review that said this product was defective, it certainly isn't. You just need to calibrate the outputs for the right software to make it work properly. Calibration software varies greatly from software to software, and you need to know your software well to get the most out of it. This adapter ensures that you don't lose anything.

Does not work with Mac as advertised. It only works on earlier versions of Mac OS, so for example it is not supported in 10.13+ and Hyperkin has no plans to fix it for the latest OS versions. Works great on the Switch, but since the Switch doesn't let you remap buttons, it might not work as intended, especially in games like Super Mario 3D All Stars.

It has a function and it definitely serves it. I don't have the Switch so I can't test this functionality, but it's perfect for gaming on PC. Just make sure the PC/Console switch is set to the correct position. Keep in mind that it doesn't work perfectly with RetroArch and it can be a bit tricky to set up. RA doesn't automate this adapter for simplicity, but that's not the adapter's fault. I'm using standalone Project64 and had no problem getting both the original controller and Retro Brawler…

Do not buy this item. I tried it out on my home laptop on Project 64 while playing Legend of Zelda. I'm going into the menu to customize the buttons on my old N64 game controller and the device itself caused the enter button on the joystick to hard press to the left by itself. I even disconnected the N64 controller from the Hyperkin adapter and pressed a button to adjust the button layout and still no controller was connected. 1 star. not worth your money. Ehh News - The adapter works with the standard N64 controller. Unfortunately, system-level key mapping is not available. I hope the game you are playing has game-level button mapping.
