Igloo Cooler Tie Down Kit Review

Disappointed as there was no side hook. I contacted the igloo and only got an answer yesterday. The response took 20 days.

Plastic is brittle and doesn't last long. Not worth $1. We tried to avoid contact with him, but even so, on two short rides, the fasteners broke.

Works. I've used another tethered for years, but the cooler slipped a bit. I didn't want to poke holes in my boat's deck, although the silicone should seal well. But I finally bit the bullet and installed this and my cooler stays in place.

replaced as original, the old ones burned out in the sun and crumbled in hands. Replaced in the spring when it was put back into operation, had a few days in the bay this year and when I removed the fish cooler, 2 were already torn. They are hollow just like the original, they must be stainless steel or hard plastic. They are cheap but why change them every year.

They are good and the plastic is actually not as thin as I expected. The only thing is that the hook that attaches to the radiator is not a very strong piece of metal. All mine bent out of their original shape when put on. I assume the allowable amount of tightening would be fine for water, but I haven't taken the boat out since installing it. If they come loose I may need to find an alternative hook system, maybe a carabiner.

I have no idea why it says "Metal" in the description. I was hoping they would be painted aluminum but they are PLASTIC. The only metal in the packaging were the screws and small parts on the straps. At the same time, they were quite easy to assemble, and the straps and hooks are comfortable and do their job. If they were aluminum I would give them five stars.
