Bought as a spare

The price was relatively cheap. This was bought as a replacement. Decided lugging around spares is better than being stranded again. At the intersection, the electronic ignition went off. My wife and I parked it curbside and waited 90 minutes for the AAA to arrive. We were able to swap out the parts in 15-20 minutes and get back on the road.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Not plug and play, but functional. So far, so good.

I didn't like that the mounting bracket was of poor quality. Welded nuts were misaligned, resulting in thread damage. I made sure I didn't force it or I would have to buy new screws. The best workaround was to move the old bracket onto the new ignition coil. The Accord 91 is ready to ride again and has more power uphill.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Without insurance

The ignition coil itself works perfectly, but the metal bracket was defective. The nuts were welded in the wrong place. They didn't line up with the holes in the mount, making them completely unusable. Luckily I kept the bracket from my old (broken) coil (I used it in the '02 Honda Accord Value Package) so I was able to finish the repair.

Pros
  • Service
Cons
  • Negative impression
