Come to my Porter Cable band saw.

I used the blade in my Porter Cable 82 in a band saw that only has one speed so I really can't use it on steel, BUT it works well with .125 (1/8 inch) 2024 T3 aluminum. I cut maybe 6 linear feet and it's still cutting great so I'm hoping it will last.

Pros
  • 14tpi is a fixed tooth profile, 1.8mm pitch per tooth
Cons
  • I don't remember

According to the manufacturer, suitable for construction steel, but not harder. Apparently I was trying to cut something harder (nondescript square steel tubing sold by Home Depot) and after cutting just two square inches of this material the saw blade blew up (sorry I don't have a Rockwell C hardness tester).

Pros
  • Bimetal band saw blade 80" long, 1/2" wide
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Blade works great on mild steel and aluminum

I got this blade for making straight cuts in mild steel with a vertical band saw. 14 TPI x 1/2" at low speed and slow material feed gave me a nice straight cut in 3/16" mild steel. I've also used this blade to cut straight through 1/8" aluminum. Using a slower steel speed and moderate material feed resulted in a good straight cut. I use an old (early 1950's) Walker-Turner Multi-Speed Band saw.

Pros
  • 14 tpi suitable for cutting thin pipe sections etc.
Cons
  • Dear
