You lied about the supplied filter cartridge

3 stars so far. Not installed yet. My question to the company is why do they say they come with an r5 filter but they actually come with a dummy filter. It says "Includes 1 complete R5 filter" right on the box. Why? Do I need to drill holes in the cartridge to make it work?

Pros
  • Chrome design complements any modern kitchen
Cons
  • Long wait

I was very disappointed that it didn't downgrade or make my TDS.

I checked the TDS of the water before installing this filter and checked after my water went through the filter and the TDS was equal to (393) or higher than the Water filter didn't work With everything. I was very disappointed that it didn't lower my TDS or improve the taste of the water. TDS must be 15 or lower. The FILTER is not sealed in the bag, there is only a removable cover that does not prevent anyone from using the filter before I have received it. I'm only giving this 3 stars because

Pros
  • No tools required for installation

Water tastes great now.

I have too much calcium in my city water. Despite being assured it was safe to drink, it tasted terrible. It also leaves a white film that cakes on my lamps and appliances. I tried using a Britta jug but I could still taste the chemicals used to purify water. Instapure leaves no residue or aftertaste. That works great. The only problem is that filtered water flows in a thin stream, while from a regular faucet it comes out faster and thicker. I don't know if plumbing or Instapure does it…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

Customer service was very good they replaced the device right away

I like the WaterPik I had one so I saw this device I bought it and when I opened the box I was surprised, a dummy filter to see. The packaging states that a filter is included. So when you buy this filter, please note that the filter is not original. I should have read the other reviews, someone else mentioned this. Anyway I put it on and it fell off the next day when I turned on the water. The customer service is very good, they exchange the device immediately. I'm glad I had WaterPik filters,

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Good water purification; questionable plastic

We've had Instapure filtration systems for about five years. This R5 system filters the water well - we have a house that was built in 1940 and there is a chance of lead leaking from the pipes so this is a preventive measure as well. What raises doubts is the attachment of the crane. I broke part of the clips that attach the filter to the end of the faucet - they are plastic and broke after about a year of use. Also, the valve that switches from tap water to filtered water gets a little weird…

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • No performance
