The license plate insertion hole is not big enough and you have to use a lot of force to fully insert the license plate, even if you tap the license plate on a hard surface to get it in. . Perhaps the instructions should say to lubricate the plates first. I still have 1/16" of the slab because it wouldn't go all the way in and I didn't want to rip the rubber. Easy to fix, make bigger. They were brand new slabs.

I'm not sure if Illinois License Plates are 1/32" taller than regular plates but I really struggled to fit them. folded on me and it was very difficult to slide into the holder. It was probably too close to 20 minutes of pressing, tapping and punching to give up. I ended up having to use a hammer to straighten my plate. I do not recommend.

I don't have to say much about that. It does what you want it to: protect your paintwork from license plate metal. Prevents rattling when driving, even with 2 screws. Gives the license plate a cleaner look without selling you to the dealer who gave you your frame for free. The plastic is soft rubber but tough enough to withstand the seasons and accidental tears. I was surprised at how firm yet soft it was.
