I wish I had gotten one sooner.

Finally, earlier this month, I was able to put away my sandwich bag full of flash drives. If you're constantly writing ISO files to USB sticks and occasionally trying to get them to work, and have old laptop hard drives lying around gathering dust, it's worth every penny. I haven't used more than one flash drive since I got this. It came with the latest firmware already installed, but I flashed it to a FAT/exFAT firmware instead of NTFS to make it easier for me to boot to the ISO folder whenโ€ฆ

Why are other USB drive enclosures sold?

Read only! Boot from the menu from any ISO image on the disc, just like a physical CD! Mount CD-ROM and/or hard disk at the same time! For the past 18 years I have had the habit (and sometimes still do) of using computers to assemble/repair/etc. to take home. and stumbled across something similar a few years ago, then about a year or two later the mini USB broke and nobody has made drives like this for years. I've lost count of the number of times my USB flash drives have been infected andโ€ฆ

Frustrating, illogical virtual hard drive emulator

I bought this to replace my old Zalman that had a broken USB 2.0 port. Compared to my old Zalman from 2011, this iodine is significantly inferior. This is simply because if you want to change modes from HDD to ODD (storage to emulation), you have to turn the device off and hold the switch on the side, then plug it back in. This puts you in an unsettling situation when trying to repair your computer, hoping for the device to go into virtual disk mode at boot time. In other words, you have toโ€ฆ

Must for an IT specialist

Great stuff. If you are in the computer repair industry, this is what you need. It's easy to set up, just pop in your 2.5" hard drive (or SSD), plug it in and copy the ISOs to the ISO folder and you're good to go. The menu is easy to navigate and easy to find. Image you want and then click the button to mount it as CD/DVD. You can then boot the computer to the ISO and the computer will treat it as a CD/DVD drive. I've been using mine for several years. now, and it works fine when I need it. You

Absolutely essential for every Ststem Builder/Maintainer.

Essential. Lots of information about potential use cases is available online that you may have already looked at if you're looking at this. A few precautions: 1. Using the jog wheel and accessing the menu, let alone changing any settings, while the disc is being transferred to/from the disc will result in a temporary drop in transfer speed.2. If the rotary switch fails, you lose all of the functionality that distinguishes it from a regular USB SATA enclosure. It's not a modular or replaceableโ€ฆ
