Extremely portable for external hard drives

I've had this product for a little over a month and have used it probably 10-15 times, both for large transfers (over 100GB) and small single file transfers. I mainly use it to access files between my XP desktop and my Vista laptop. The only problem I have is that the drive is not recognized when I plug it into the USB port for the first time. I have to unplug and plug it back in before the drive is recognized. I haven't encountered any data loss issues yet, but only time will tell…

Does what it's designed to do and does it well

The fact that I have so little to say about this product proves that it does what it's designed to do. If you need a portable hard drive for backup, this is for you. It's not blindingly fast, but that's not a disadvantage in my opinion. He's very calm and that's an advantage from what I understand. I'm a Mac user and reformatted it from FAT-32 to HFS+. I am very satisfied with the result. As other reviewers point out, it only comes with Windows software. If you are a Mac user and SuperDuper! If

Pocket-friendly, beautiful and functional.

Every portable hard drive is different. Once you have reduced the abundance of external drives on the market to a few suitable competitors based on capacity, weight and dimensions as parameters, the equally important choice of color and shape remains to be made. The internals of the Iomega drive have been described in countless reviews on the internet and in computer magazines: it does its job and it's quiet. As for the looks of this device, picking a color is a tricky one - there are eight of…

Reliable, heavy but looks good

I know, I know - your Western Digital Passport is a lot lighter than my Iomega. It's also less bulky. But mine looks nice with steel body ends and a metallic color. Okay, I'll admit it - I bought this one because it was cheaper ($88) than the Passport - satisfied? But yes - it's pretty reliable, no problems in the last month of using it. Okay, I realize it's a pretty short month to see how long he'll be my boyfriend. But at least everything is going smoothly for us today. Since my 250GB mate is

Great Drive --- BUT DON'T FORGET TO REFORMAT IT!

After a month of researching portable hard drives and comparing drives from manufacturers like Toshiba, Seagate and Western Digital, I chose this drive mainly based on the review I read on cnet.com. Disk writes files very well fast and is very easy to use. I also bought a small black external hard drive case to store and protect the hard drive when not in use. They are made for each other! One point I should mention is that if you're using Windows, you MUST reformat the drive. The drive is…

Compatible with Vista and MacBook Pro

I always look at the three best ratings and the last three worst before I buy any electronics. I have to agree with everyone who rated it highly. I just bought a 250GB USB drive to make it easy to transfer files from my Vista desktop to my new Macbook Pro. Since I prefer the 200GB 7200RPM hard drive on my Mac, I intend to use the eGo for additional storage as well. I received the drive today, hooked it up to my Dell and copied over the files I would need for the Mac. I then plugged it into my…
