Works exactly as described. We bought this to add an alkalizer to an already existing tank. Very easy to install and now our water is even better!

I have used this to add a deionizing filter to the system but the elbow will leak no matter how tight I made it. Luckily I had to use some spare rubbers to tighten it up. I should have noticed that there were no pads in the photos.

This optional filter comes in handy when you are looking to upgrade from a 5 stage to a 6 stage reverse osmosis system but the drawings and actual kit don't match and is still working. Just note that you need to make sure the fittings are suitable for your system. This kit will not work for all reverse osmosis systems. However, a few brackets, hoses and unusable fittings don't justify the price.

I used this to add an extra 6th stage which I later wanted to install on my Ispring RCC7 which was an alkaline/mineral filter. Went like clockwork! The larger part connects to the body of the reverse osmosis membrane and the smaller part connects to the alkaline filter, so you have a V shape on top of the reverse osmosis membrane, which consists of a 5th stage carbon filter on a "V" side consists. and closer to the inside of the case is another V-shaped top, which is an alkaline filter.

Installed a six stage RO system but wanted to add an RO canister to fill the aquarium. Works as expected, holds the extra canister in place and has the extra fittings you need. I have no regrets, but a little expensive for plastic parts.
