I was trying to use this to buff out a few small scratches on a silver ring. As soon as the ring touched the tissue, the tissue turned black, which means there is some kind of chemical in the tissue. Useless.

You must be careful when using it because the screw holding it together lays on the buffer surface and may scratch the work piece. Also, the shaft will come loose from the lock nut if not tightened.

3 stars for image that does not match product. The one in the photo has a reinforced center section that makes the wheel more stable and easier to handle.
