Very easy! for sculpting supplies

Together with nichrome wire (for supports that don't need to be removed before firing) modeling with clay becomes easy - or if not easy, I haven't wanted to pull my hair out lately πŸ˜‰

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • So-so

Fairly thick aluminum wire

Some information for others: According to the diagrams, this is about 4 gauge (5 mm diameter). Solid silver. Pretty messy/greasy - boil a pot of water with a tablespoon or lots of vinegar or lemon juice (see 2nd photo). It was quite difficult to shape with bare hands. Too thick for my hair accessory but I'm sure it's great for fittings.

Pros
  • Crafts and sewing
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Cannot return but was not notified until purchase

Sneaky. If I knew that, I would drive 45 minutes to the nearest craft store. This wire is strangely dusty and very thick. It's too thick for what I need it for and I've worked with different gauge wire before so I knew what to expect.

Pros
  • Wire & Armatures
Cons
  • Crumpled

In the past I have typically used 1/4 inch aluminum rebar because it bends by hand fairly easily and still provides adequate support . For rebar that requires less support or strength, I use AMACO 1/8" aluminum wire. But also much harder to bend). As far as "flexibility" goes, this 1/4" bends into smooth curves quite easily . However, sometimes I need tools or clamps to create a sharper curve. However, using aluminum wire tools can sometimes present a problem. Because aluminum rebar is so soft,

Pros
  • Strength
Cons
  • So far so good
