Too expensive for what it is

Too expensive for what it is. The cheap fabric and padding didn't seem to sink in deep enough to protect my tailbone. Sent back and made my own from an old yoga mat (on the advice of my figure skating coach).

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Security

Will not fit my girl

For my girl who will soon be six she just started skating to get her protection. But it doesn't suit her, the price is much higher than similar products from another brand, but it's not worth it, you have to return it.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Exchange availability

The stitching around the insoles came undone after 3 or 4 socks

My daughter only wore them 3 or 4 times before the stitching around the insoles completely unraveled. I was disappointed knowing Jerry's makes good stuff but these shorts don't last long and my kids are now working on doubles. She now needs an additional pad.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • No instructions

Doesn't cover entire back

I bought these because they fit well under leggings but the padding doesn't really cover the buttocks. I fell in twice and both times I ended up where there was no padding which resulted in good bruising. They also make me sweat profusely.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Unreliable

Lifesaver for Axels and Double Jumps!

While not necessarily very thick, these pads are designed to absorb shock. And they fit well and work well. I've seen skaters wear different, cheaper shorts, but we've been told the cushioning works better. Excellent purchase! And since we bought them from Revain (and not Jerry's), they arrived a lot quicker!

Pros
  • Rugged Construction
Cons
  • Protection

Gasket in wrong place

Bought this for my daughter to figure skate on. When you fall, you rarely fall straight onto your side, which is where these pants have the largest pads. There is a small pad on the back, but it is too small and relatively high to help in a fall. Where you fall most is the hamstrings, slightly closer to the buttocks, there is no padding. See image. Don't buy this.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Expensive

Do the job, but not pretty and not particularly comfortable to wear.

My daughter doesn't wear them as she claims they are uncomfortable when she pulls them in. She said she couldn't throw herself into them etc. and refused to wear them. I was forced to purchase her soft silver lined leggings which she loves to wear. I know several other skaters/parents with the same experience. The cushion blocks absorb shocks in the event of a fall, but are noticeable both visually and in terms of comfort.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Minor issues

Excellent protection! for protective trousers and underwear

I wanted to wait for my first fall to check. I fell once with them and a second time I fell the same way leaving them at home. The difference is incredible. They don't feel protective when you put them on, but the padding covers exactly the spots that beginners fall on most often. I hardly feel falls with them. No bruising. I can also wear them under leggings and tights so they don't stand out too much.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
