Don't assume you know which wires and pins are

If you can figure out the pinout of the original cable that works great. If you are unsure, you will likely be very disappointed. The pinout of my cable confuses me. Why is that, but replacing it the same way worked great. You will need a very small flat head screwdriver.

The HDMI connection is far from the easiest solution, but this adapter works well

There are two ways to go about this setup to ensure it works correctly the first time. One is to install these adapters on both ends of the cable and make sure they both connect the same way. The other is to record the connections from the existing damaged head you are replacing and make sure they match those of this new adapter exactly. I did the latter and everything worked again! Great product, terrible standard

Although this product worked exactly as intended, you are not told that HDMI is a crappy standard and that there is no universal wiring diagram. I studied as many diagrams as I could, but when I unraveled the cable I was trying to fix, there was NOT a single matching color scheme on ANY of the diagrams I saw, and unfortunately the cable manufacturer hasn't approved one. . So I have no idea if this product actually works, but I was able to get 20 tiny wires in the holes and wrap them all up. So…
