Update: 1/2019 The manufacturer contacted me and said that the product was updated and improved. They sent a replacement. Glass is better, tools are slightly improved. The tools are still not magnetized and those screws are tiny. The tools that came with it were pretty much useless. The glass only lasted a week before cracking, very weak.

I replaced the battery on my iPad touch 1st generation and the touchscreen is damaged. I created some dead zones. I personally thought it was the LCD screen that needed replacing. Wow, I was wrong. Then I found out that the part that makes the touch function work is called a digitizer and it was very affordable. This product worked very well for me as I already knew how to disassemble my iPad. Small problem with the first digitizer I got, one of the ribbon cables was slightly torn allowing only half the screen to work. The exchange is easy, no problem. The next one worked great, the grip was strong and everything connected properly. Couldn't be happier with the item as well as the value for it.

The ribbon cables are actually too long to fit under the digitizer. Wasting time trying to attach it when I was finally able to fold the tape back under the glass, it broke trying to install it. I've made a TON of iPad glass replacements and the glass is nowhere near strong enough, if you can't install it it won't last long. Avoid this product.

Good overall, but the adhesive strips are not very sticky. The screen is slightly raised. Luckily I have a case and just press the screen when needed. It would be very frustrating to use this particular iPad more regularly.

Home button works very well. This is the best screen replacement I have ever ordered! The kit includes tools. The new touchscreen works great and the quality is as good as the original. The best part is the adhesives are already installed and the use of black glue which sticks much better than 3M tape.

The strap connectors are actually too long to fit under the digitizer, trying to fit them is a waste of time. When I was finally able to fold the tape back under the glass, it broke as soon as I tried to attach it.
