Fantastic tool for the technician

I work as a copier technician and install many copiers for customers including driver setup and scanning functions. It has become an invaluable tool when it comes to sharing drivers between computers. I no longer have to worry about spreading a virus from computer to computer across the company when copying drivers between my computer and flash drive. I was fine with the read-only physical switch. It's easy to change positions and doesn't feel as fragile as some other reviewers have claimed…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Other

The write protection works!

Excellent USB with write protection. This should be the standard for all USBs. Someone said one star less because the file can be deleted with write protection (W/P) enabled. I've tried this and can see that no files are deleted when the W/P switch is enabled - in fact, the "Delete" option doesn't even appear in the Chooser when right-clicking on a file on the USB . Pressing "Delete" on your keyboard won't delete it either. A bit pricey but 100% worth it in my case. Excellent piece of iron…

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Works exactly as advertised

Pros: Write protect switch (requires no software installation). The switch prevents virus infection and accidental deletion of data from the hard drive. j) drive cons: price

Pros
  • Nice touch
Cons
  • Not happy with everything

Fast Well built

Was looking for a replacement for several PQI flash drives that suddenly lost their format. So far I am satisfied with the performance of this device. The speed of the dongle even impressed me on USB2 hardware. I would suggest a better locking/unlocking switch marking system as the ink on mine has been floating around in my pocket all day. I would recommend this to others.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Not bad but...

So far so good the best in computers and accessories

I love my KANGURU SS3 flash drives. They are faster on USB 3 ports than other flash drives I have. I bought them mainly for the hardware write protection as I have destroyed flash drives that use software protection. I bought and have a suggestion for a kangaroo to add a white spot on the back so I can write an identifier to help me tell them apart.

Pros
  • Stable test scores
Cons
  • Vulgarity

I do not recommend buying it

I do not recommend you buying it, the write protection does not work as it should, even if you put the lock in the unlocked state, it remains write-protected , you cannot write it in the state return, I try 10 to 20 times before it accepts copying.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Peace of mind and fairly fast speed

Originally I was looking for a flash drive to store some commonly used files that I needed to access on computers with questionable security. The write protect feature was a big plus for me; The increased speed of USB 3.0 was an added bonus! I haven't measured speeds or anything, but file transfers are noticeably faster than my other USB 2.0 drives when used in the appropriate port. A little pricey but seems like a well made product with the features I was looking for. Per. money well spent.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Clarity

Good I/O speed (USB 3.0) and I love the switch!

I use it to store malware removal tools, so it's used on many infected PCs. The switch keeps debris out of the flash drive. You can use a registry entry to enable/disable writing to disk, but not before it is inserted into the PC, which may be too late to protect it. The switch is a great invention! Update about a year later: I bought 2 of these drives and they both still work perfectly. Great job kangaroo, they are worth your money!

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

See update below. Very good USB stick, solid construction. The lid stays in place now, but as is common with lidded USB drives, I'm afraid it will eventually come loose and then be lost. For a USB 3.0 device, it is a bit slower compared to other USB 3.0 flash drives. It uses a loop on the other end of the stick to which a lanyard or similar device can be attached to indicate LED access activity. The problem is that it's made of dark plastic and is very difficult to see unless you're using a USB

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old
