they are tough, i don't know why i expected them to be tougher but definitely my teeth hurt and get stuck, a bit annoying when eating.

My wife loves this Dutch sweet, even if many of us Dutch don't think about it that much. But she really likes it and I don't think it's bad, which is a huge compliment from me as I hate liquorice.

This is not our American soft and soft liquorice. It's stickier than hard candy and you need to soften it in your mouth before chewing. I like it because it takes me a lot more time to eat. Great taste of real liquorice!

Taste is ok but I like other brands of black liquorice much more. Not hard caramel, but not easy to chew either. very strange texture. You have to suck on it to dissolve it. I guess I'm a loser who bought them because the black cat form was too cute not to get hold of.

I've found very few people who enjoy it, even in my sweet-toothed house. We call them bad cats. I personally love them, but they have a very firm liquorice flavor rather than a sweet taste. If you like unsalted European liquorice and your toppings are good, they're winners.
