old tone. Do not buy from this seller

I only use kato clay and when the clay is fresh it is easy to recycle. This is my first and LAST purchase from this seller. This tone is very old. It is dry and crumbles when conditioned. No wonder. There is no "Feedback to Seller" option to complain directly to the seller.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled

Great color and shape properties but terrible condition

Beautiful colors that will retain their shape and color after baking. There is no comparison to Premo which I usually use. It is excellent. However, according to other users, this is very difficult to determine. I was shocked to find that the finished 1/8" test piece was brittle as it broke in half rather easily instead of bending. Maybe I didn't condition it enough.

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Obsolete

But mostly I like it.

Using this clay is much better than using Sculpey III and Fimo, but new formula or not, this material is deadly difficult to condition compared to most clays. If you don't have a pasta machine, you really know what. However, I like the colors. They're preserved when baked, and images on reeds come out much sharper with this tone. I've never felt the need for a pasta maker before, but I think I'll have to bite the bullet and get one if I'm going to be working with this clay a lot. It's a good…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
